Online Championships require you choose a car when you sign up that you have to stick with all the way through so that it reflects how a "real world" championship would be organised.
Cars across classes do have per-track BoP applied but of course some cars will often be stronger at certain circuits.
If you do want to change your car mid-season, go to "options" in the top right and select "unregister"
You can then re-register for the championship with a new car (but you will lose all of the points you've accumulated).
